Arts & Crafts Online Showcase

The Arts & Crafts Showcase is approaching quickly.

When: From 10am on Monday 5 October to Monday 19 October

Entry: Now closed

U3A Knox members have submitted over 100 entries of their work. Categories include abstracts, portraits, landscapes, drawing, photography, 3D works, textiles, papercraft and more.

The Arts & Crafts Showcase is a true celebration of what we can achieve in our “third age”, so make sure to tell your friends and family. Most works will be available for sale at no commission, or you are welcome to simply have a browse. We invite all visitors to vote for their favourites in our People’s Choice, with prizes and awards given for the most popular items.

Phone Photography Webinars

In partnership with Active Ageing, Knox City Council invite you to join renowned Melbourne photographer Chris Bowes in a free two-part Phone Photography Webinar Series for beginners.

When: Wednesday 7 October  and 14 October
Time: 10am to 11am

Pub Trivia Quiz

Last year’s trivia quiz was so much fun that we’re replacing it with a weekly Pub Trivia Quiz held via Zoom.

When: Every Friday, starting Friday 28 August
Time: 3.30 to 5pm
Where: Online via Zoom

We expect the quiz to last around an hour and a half and you will self-score. You’ll have the opportunity to chat, with BYO drinks and nibbles an optional extra!

Art therapy with Teresa Schipano

U3A Knox art tutor Teresa Schipano was approached by a U3A member whose granddaughter provides services for Tobin Brothers. She asked if Teresa would be willing to create an art video to help people through the challenging times of grief. Teresa has since made four videos, now all available for viewing.

The premise is that being creative can help many people stay positive and discover enjoyment in creating art. Of course, Teresa’s videos are not just for the grief stricken but for anyone interested in art. She offers valuable art tips to help your creative process.

The Knox Over 55s Zest4Life program aims to “…support seniors to remain active and socially connected within the Knox municipality.” It offers a range of activities, training and events that are free or at low cost.
